
Bank Account
Like the National Insurance Number you will need an appointment, get in touch with your bank, opening a bank account is something you cannot do online.
To open a bank account you will need two things:
- Passport/ID card
- Proof of your UK address (one of the following things):
- Tenancy Agreement or Council Rent book
- Utility bill (Gas, Water, Electric, Cable TV or Land line Phone Bill (not mobile) that's less than three months old)
- Letter/statement from bank in your country with new UK address on it
- For International Student: Passport or EEA National Identity Card and letter of acceptance or letter of introduction from the institution at which they are to study at.
You don’t necessary have to deposit some money when you open the bank account.
Prepaid Card
Instead of a Bank account you can have a prepaid card, it's like a credit or debit card and you can use the account for many of the same things, such as shopping online and you can apply online, choose one of the following websites:
